I made it, but I think I did something wrong. I ended up not giving it to my customer because it was kind of brick like in my opinion. I am not sure if I did something wrong or not. I don't know. It was very thick and heavy. I could not tell if it was dry or moist so I did not serve it as I was unsure of it. I did fill it with some chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling. I have it all iced, my DH is going to take it to work tomorrow.

If someone knows, please let me know if I did something wrong.

Thanks!

It turns out to be extremely dense but DELICIOUS!!!!! When I finished frosting one and putting the ganache on I thought the thing weighed 8 pounds (probably not that heavy but close). May sure you tell whoever is getting it to cut very small pieces it is so rich.

yeah!! it was a big hit. I thought is was a little too rich (if there is such a thing) but I was cutting standard size pieces. A regular 8 or 9 inch cake will feed quite a few people.

Okay, my DH did not take the cake into work, I took it to work this morning, and don't you know I just had to try a piece!!! It was yummy and yes, it weighs about 8lbs as well! I had a chocolate buttercream over it as well so rich it is. I need a big glass of milk now!

Just be prepared that it is not like other cakes, it is very dense. I would call it a cross between a brownie and a cake.

Yummy!

What a great way to start the day with cake! icon_biggrin.gif
