Has anyone else ever gone to "view unanswered posts" in the forums? There's a little link at the top of the forums on the right hand side. If you got here you'll see we have 149 pages of UNANSWERED posts! I think this is more of a dilemma than some pictures not getting commented on! We're leaving each other hanging here! I think we could seriously use some "Forum Supporters" to go through these things and answer some - not just to put a "here's a bump" - but to try and answer the post - of course I'm not knowledgeable about everything and some posts I truly can't answer - but the ones that we can, I think we really should! I know I'm always really disappointed when no one answers my posts b/c I'm posting b/c I need help with something - and usually I need that help AT that moment! So can we create a forum supporter thing like the "Gallery Supporters"? Right now ANYONE can view the "unanswered posts" and post to them.......... but I just thought we might be able to bring a little more attention to that - we SHOULD be looking at unanswered posts so that we can help each other!

Alright - stepping off my soap box now icon_smile.gif What do you all think?

I agree!. I try to do this periodically. I don't every day, but do probably every 2 or 3 days. I answer the ones I can, but I'm not an experienced decorator - but am an experienced baker. But I've been under the weather lately, so haven't done as much this past week. If I don't know the answer, I try to direct them where to go for the answer - do searches, etc. (I usually do a search and then give them the link)

I usually go to unanswered post but being new to decorating I can't answer most icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif but I try and give them a bump.

I also go to that link, probably once a week. I think it is great to bring some attention to something that matter greatly to so many of us members. icon_smile.gif

I would rather answer a post than comment on a picture (don't ask me why, I'm weird that way!), so yeah, I'm game!

Not sure if it's possible here on CC, but on another message board I'm addicted to, there is a "New Posts" button. All you have to do is click on it and you can see all the posts that are new since the last time no matter what Forum they're in.

I miss so much here on CC because there is sooooo many different forums and responses.

Yes, that is available here. Click on "Forums". Then on the top right, there are two options 1) View Unanswered Posts 2) View Posts Since last Visit

There is a place to click on under view unanswered posts. It says something like "View posts since last visit". I don't know if that is similiar to what your talking about. HTH

I think this is a great idea!!!! I'm fairly new, but It makes me feel good when I CAN give advice. I can certainly give "I've had this prob too" advice. It's all trial and error right now.
I didn't know there was an "unanswere posts" section. I'll start getting on there and see if I'm any help. icon_wink.gif

a lot of times those unanswered posts are just repeats of questions already answered in other threads.

Sometimes people just get plain tired of seeing the same questions asked over and over again. I know for SURE that I am one of them.

I get frustrated when I read something that was answered, thoroughly discussed on another thread being asked AGAIN, and AGAIN.

Sorry, but that is just me...

Sometimes I just go in and tell them, nicely, of course!!! I would NEVER be mean to anyone!!! to use the search feature on the page.

and knowing that some people are a little more computer challenged than others I direct them on how to use it.

but, most times, I just don't answer....MY BAD...I know.

( but running a business I come on here to relax and for a break....don't have too much time to answer questions that have been already answered...)

My pet peeve is the one about PRICING!!! lol......sorry ladies and gentlemen!! Just MY own personal thing...lol

I know I can be most annoying myself, but...I do have a suggestion.....

Even though I know the mods already have a great deal to do, keep the threads together or...maybe new forums...

First one......"HOW DO I PRICE ( fill in the blank here)?............lol


Or...have a Pricing chart that we can download like the tutorials???

Just a thought...

Please...bear with me, I do not have too many! lol

imartsy - I agree. I actually finished a cake at 11:00 last night and was so tired and ready to go to bet. But, addicted as I am.....I started going to the forum and looking for unanswered questions. I was able to answer a couple. I have just recently started posting in the forum, so I will try to get on there at least once a day from now on.

Great point!!!! We are all on here to help each other out.

Thank you for pointing out that view new posts! I just thought it was limited to what is on the main page.

I know how you feel RB, but sometimes a person just doesn't have the time to wade through all the posts when you do a search. I've posted for help before when I was in a hurry, knowing full well my answer is probably somewhere here but I just don't have the time. KWIM?

Ditto! I try to do both, but ususally it is easier to leave a comment on a photo. Just because I get in a rut.

I mentioned it once before in another thread but I really think it is a good idea to start grouping like threads- you know like how we have the Everything You Want To Know About BC and such. I cant tell you how many topics we have of the same subject that can be combined and stickied! . And call me lazy or call me a biotch, but I get tired of posting the same things when all someone needs to do is click the search button
