I have a question for everyone. I have only been decorating cakes for about 6 months now and am just finishing up course 3 in my Wilton classes but feel comfortable enough to start making cakes to sell. I was wondering how everyone went about getting there name out and getting started. do you tell people you are a beginner and do you adjust your prices? I want to be able to cover my cost but am not so worried about turning a huge profit. Any suggestions for a beginner would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Here is a link to another discussion about getting licensed for sale of baked goods. Once you are legal, word of mouth is the most effective. donate cakes to people and places that have frequent need of cakes.
