Using the thesaurus lookup on Google, here's a few ideas...maybe you can do something with them...

Tina's Pastry Terminal
Tina's Pastry Barn
Tina's Goody Barn
Tina's Pastry Service Center

Not much, but a start, I hope! Good luck!

Tina-If you are not in the same vicinity or state as Sugar Shack, don't worry about the same name. Do you know how many hairdressers call their shop "The Cutting Edge"? It's okay to pick something similar. I think it sounds great. You just have to see if the website is taken.

How about something like
Tina's Sweet Spot
Tina's Confectionery Corner
The Hide Away Bake Shop

Have you thought about using your last name?

Why don't you PM sharon and check with her to make sure she's cool with it. I'm sure she lives very far from you and won't mind.

how about a play on words...just do

the pastry barn (like the pottery barn, get it?!)

the website www.thepastrybarn.com IS available as well.

go to www.godaddy.com and they have an awesome search feature to see if websites are available or not.

What about The Cake Garage? Your logo could maybe be a pic of a rolling garage door, open about 2/3 with either one or a few different cakes 'inside' the garage. Slogan/'tag line' could be something like: Rolling 'em out...just for you! I don't know, that might be a little lame...maybe someone else can tweak it a little. icon_lol.gif If you really like the name The Gourmet Garage, your site could be www.gourmetgaragecakes.com - the site with www.thegourmetgarage.com looks to be some sort of import car business, so they're way different. And with 'cakes' in there it'll set it apart.

It is frustrating to come up with a name that you haven't seen or heard anywhere else....and then you see it or hear it somewhere else! icon_razz.gif I came up with SugarBelle's and the domain name was available. One month later, I go to reserve the name and someone else had it!!! icon_evil.gificon_mad.gifthumbsdown.giftapedshut.gificon_cry.gif They have no website, just reserved the name...really frustrating! It'd be one thing if they actually had a site, but to just be holding the domain name...grrrrrrr.

***Edited to add: Sharon aka Sugarshack is in Louisiana...faaaarrrr away from Jersey! icon_wink.gif

Sharon lives in Louisiana. A far trip from NJ. But I can tell you Sugar shack is not an uncommon name for this type of business. There was a sugar shack restaurant in my little hometown growing up so I wouldn't worry about it especially if it's going to be tinassugarshack.com. There won't be any confusion on the web since both sites start out with your names and not sugar shack. Plus someone in LA is not going to buy a cake in NJ and vice versa. Just my 2c. but I would send sharon a pm anyhow just to talk it over and let her know what's up!

What about Tina's Pastry Place? The whole garage thing...I can picture a garage with a cake on wheels speeding off with a cloud of icing behind! Also thought of:

Tina's Bake and Take
Tina's Pastry Palace
Tina's Cake in the Wall (like a whole in the wall...very small place)
Tina's Cake Cottage
Tina's Cake Cabin
Tina's Cake Chamber

Also, does your city have a nick name? What about using your last name?

Hope these help!!!

I too like the garage reference.

how about Tina's Cake Service Center?

I love the idea of the logo with a cake on wheels, or in a garage, etc... It's a cute idea and memorable.
