can I just say the cake with the creamer is to die for????????? wow did you come up with a great recipe!!!!!!!!!!! I torted and filled mine with dulce de leche (simmered sweetened condensed milk in the can) I ate a little of the leveling scraps and it was THE most delicous cake I've ever had!!! I can't wait to taste it with the caramel all together.......I'm thinking of putting the creamer in the IMBC icing for the cake too!! I just love that creamer........it's sooo yummy, and to think I didn't even know about it..........I LOVE caramel!!!

There has been such a buzz over your "Caramel Vanilla" secret . . . you really need to post it in the recipe section! I made a cake last night with it and also added it to my buttercream . . . SOOOO good!

Just curious, did you use the powder or the liquid coffee mate in your buttercream? If you did use the powdered, did it make your icing gritty at all????????

At the end, it's always taste that wins em over!! You go girl!

I think your display was terrific, especially on the short notice you had. So don't over worry about it.

One piece of advice for your pictures... Find a Creative Memories consultant (trade her cakes or something) and get the new flip (minutes album) book for photos they have and an album (you want the large ivory Picfolio) for your wedding cake photos (and do a few pics in the back of other things you've done to showcase your sweets tables, grooms cakes, hand done cookies - whatever you have in your portfolio).

It'll really be easy to assemble, change photos as needed, etc... they're pricey albums but they stand up to anything you can throw at them.
The nice part about these is they're very versatile and they really protect your photos. I mean, isn't everyone's fingers covered in some sort of frosting at a bridal show? LOL

Congrats!! You did great.

I used the powder and it wasn't gritty at all. I mixed it in with the powdered sugar so it went in at that point . . . I didn't just add it at the end. I only added 2 TBS and it didn't impact texture at all. Just the flavor. Mmm, Mmm, Mmm.

I added the powdered coffeemate as the very last step, after the BC was complete, and it was perfect. Not gritty, just delicious. I added it last because I wasn't sure how much it would take to get a nice flavor, and I wanted to add a little at a time. It was wonderful!

Is this only to be added to white cakes?

modthyrth - thanks for the info on trying to do a bridal show. I will remember all of that when it comes time to do one!

Are bridals shows held throughout the year or just like January - June or July? How do you find out about them???

So are you all adding the creamer to a white cake mix or a scratch cake? Anyone willing to share a scrumptious scratch recipe?

I'd love to hear how that tastes, too . . . also, who has tried the other flavors of creamer? I'm dying to try the Creme brulee flavored one.

Chocolate tastes good with the caramel, but it's also good with the coconut creme flavor, and especially the hazelnut. Other than plain vanilla those are about the only flavors I have found so far. I know there is usually a cinamon flavored one... and in the liquid variety I remember there used to be one called Southern Buttered Pecan that was to DIE for... I wish I could find that becuase I think that would make a rockin' good cake! I am going to check some different stores and see if they have a different variety.

What an accomplishment! I don't think I could have ever pulled that off. I love your ideas, you seem to really know what you're doing. I've never even been to a bridal show. Guess I should go, eh?

I love your table set up. Its not gaudy or cluttered. Sometimes less is more, and in this case holds true. (Not all brides care about, or can afford, a rotating cake!) You should be really proud of yourself, and your angel of a husband, as well.

BTW, I just made the white caramel cake. Its pretty darn yummy!

WOW! I had no idea all of you had posted since I last checked this thread. I wonder why I didn't get an email? Must be that new spam eater program my DH installed.

I'm so thrilled that you all have had a chance to try the white caramel recipe and loved it! I did come across a comment about it in another thread and it made me smile to know they were talking about my 'recipe' (if you can call it that?). I just hope that none of my local competitors are on this board! Hmm... never thought about that. Oh well!

Thank you all for your encouragement about my display. I went into that show SOOOO sleep deprived, it didn't take much to make me feel uneasy and unprepared. I am already making plans for hand-outs for the January show that will knock their socks off!! I really enjoy marketing, so the next show will be fun. icon_smile.gif For those of you who are interested in getting into a bridal show, there are some excellent threads in this forum on just that. Just do a search for 'bridal show'. To find out who to contact about local bridal shows, call the biggest bridal gown retailer in your area- trust me, they know every show and the contact person.

Thanks again everyone!!
