Need help!!! I am new to the cookie making.. I made a few cookie favors and now every time I take a cake order I am also taking a cookie favor order.

I am doing a Little Mermaid cake for next weekend and she wanted me to come up with a favor. My fav thing from Little Mermaid is the dinglehopper = the fork that Ariel uses to comb her hair. So I gave the idea to the client and she loved and said that they used the dinglehopper on the invitations. So I am going to do a favor bag with a dinglehopper, fondat pearl & chocolate shells. Great! Right? Now, HOW DO I MAKE A FORK???!!!

I thought I could just buy a fork cookie cutter but I cannot find any on line. Do you know of where I can find one? I thought I could maybe use a broom cookie cutter but really would like a fork one. I also saw where you can make your own cookie cutters but how hard or easy is that? That's a lot of questions.......... Please help! Thanks in advance!!!

Here's another link by Fancy Flours.

I've been looking for metal ones (cheaper) but can't seem to find any. Another option you could try (and its FREE!) is looking for a picture of a fork on the internet, cutting out the shape and then laminate it or put it on cardboard or something and use that to cut out your shapes. Here's a picture I found:

How many do you have to make? You can easily make your own cookie cutter. And it'll be so worth it, knowing you've got a perfect shape to work with. Here's a great tutorial to help you see how it's done:

Thanks! Those copper cookie cutters are expensive..... I cannot find the metal one either. I just got another order for another Little Mermaid Cake and the dinglehopper favors... I guess that can justify me purchasing a $10-$15 cookie cutter. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm icon_confused.gif

Thanks for the fork link too. I thought about that too but cutting out 60 forks by hand.......hmmmmmmmmmmmmm That does not sound like fun. icon_lol.gif

This is the best sight ever.... Everyone here is so helpful. Thanks again!!

I have to make 60 of them.... And I am not the fastest cookie maker by any means. I think I am going to splurge and get the cookie cutter; however, I am so glad that you posted the "how to"!!! I wish I would have seen that yesterday when I was trying to make Darth Vader cookies!

Thanks!!

Very, very heavy......these suckers are not bending or loosing their shape. Extremely high quality. I am very pleased and will absolutely order more from them. www.kitchengifts.com
