My crazy weekend...

Wow, I'm so glad this weekend is over! I had the biggest order ever and I barely made it through! I did a wedding cake for 200 and a grooms cake. I don't know how some of you do that on a regular basis. I almost ran out of time on the groom's cake, so it's not as good as I would have liked, but the couple loved it. The wedding cake took forever. I was making flwers all week. I don't know why I see cakes in magazines and say sure I can do that! I guess I love the challenge, but at 6:30 a.m. saturday morning when I still hadn't been to sleep I was pretty ticked at myself.

Thanks for listening. I put the cakes in the gallery. I love this place and always look forward to monday to see what everyone did over the weekend.

I love the cakes peacock. Great Job. I'm sure that the bride and groom were very pleased with the results.

I think that we all bite off a little more than we can chew, but somehow still get it done.

Thanks Mchelle! This one almost brought me to tears! When I got there to set it up I had forgotten one of my stress free supports. I was freaking out. My hubby came up with the idea to use the outside of bick pens for the dowls. He ran to the store and bought a pack, removed the insides and used kitchen scissors to cut them, then washed them and used them. It worked great, after all they were just plastic hollow tubes. The Bic pen logo looked a little unprofessional, but I was in a pinch! I was a guest at the wedding and the girl cutting the cake wanted to know if I would like her to save the dowls. (LOL)

Kristy...love looking at your cakes! They are always spectacular and these are no exception. Beautiful!

I wouldn't go that far nernan! stephanie214, you're too sweet! I've learned almost everything about cake decorating from this site. My cakes have improved so much since i found this site. One of these days I'll have to find the picture of my course 1 cake and give you guys all a good laugh!

Your cakes are gorgeous!!!! I know how you feel...one weekend I took on about 17 cakes!!! I was up for nearly two days straight...and learned a good lesson...I have a limit of how many cakes I can do in a weekend...and never again will it be 17! Anyway, you did a fabulous job! thumbs_up.gif
