I have a suggestion regarding bartering or selling your items among other cake central members.

What if we started something like a yahoo group? There would just be a thread here saying there is a yahoo group for only CC members to barter sell their items. I do not think CC would be liable because the transactions would not be occuring on the CC webpage. Only a reference to where the transactions can be found. Plus you need to get approval to be a member of a yahoo group and it would be easy to check to see who is a CC member and who is not. The rules for trading would be laid out in the group, not on CC. It would be nice to not have to use ebay, therefore cutting out transaction fees from them.

Please let me know what you think Jackie or Heath.
And anybody else interested please speak up, so i know there is interest in a CC barter/trade group.

I am interested but when I posted a thread about this, it was locked in a record breaking 14 minutes! Well, close enough, anyway icon_lol.gif

I'm down for whatever would allow us to trade/sell that doesn't tick off the CC mod's......

I think that's a great idea... I belong to a group that people can post what they have for sale in our town and then the first person to respond, gets first chance at it... we could do it like that... I wouldn't want to do a bidding thing to see how high the prices can go. If anyone wants, I could create the group and moderate, I've done a few already that are similar.

It has been brought to Jackie and Heath's attention a few times but it is something they do not want to get into right at this time.Oooops sorry ..I didn't read the rest of the post.I would be interested in a Yahoo group!!

Why would it only have to be CC members that can join? I would let anyone join as long as they were interested in trading/selling cake stuff... that way it really has nothing to do with CC at all...

That would be awesome.... esp for people like me that live half way around the world and don't have access to all the old Wilton pans etc..... that is assuming people would post internationally???

Well i just suggested CC members only because then we know who is on the other end of the transaction for the most part. If people are interested in keeping it open for all decorators that's awesome. I'm just suggesting CC members because then there is another trust factor to the transaction and one might worry a little less that they are going to get taken for a ride.

Okay, I just started a group... pass it around to everyone you know so that we can get a lot of people in there... I posted a sort of system that we can try using that way we can get feedback on everyone and earn trust that way. There is a risk but it's all up to you if you want to take it or not...
