I am to do a cake for a soon to be nine year old girl. The grandmother left the idea up to me but asked to see some pictures. I asked what the little girl was into and was given nothing to go on!!! So I tried to picture what my nine year old niece would like..... I printed like 6 different ideas and she didn't like any of them. I liked the pink camo or the leopard print idea. She did mention that she was into the Bratz dolls. So that is what I based all my ideas on. She then says she is into tap dancing and for me to try and find something along those lines.

So CC I need ideas for a 9 year old girls birthday cake with tap dancing theme. !!!!! I am going completely blank.

Well this isn't tap dancing but you could find an image and make a FBCT.

Edited to say this is not my cake..made by a lady called Heather in WV.

Does the cake have to have something to do with tap?? Why not a beautiful girly cake with great colors and no theme necessarily. Or a cake in the shape of a big 9.

In some of the cakes that I printed off they were just girly colors and I guess she didn't like them either?

Is this a Gramzilla? My goodness! If she only knows that her grandaughter is only into Bratz and Tap, she's not too close, is she?

My 9 year old wanted Jesse McCartney. She got Jesse McCartney. Keep on trying and don't get too exasperated with Gramzilla!

hahahahaha!!! You nailed her on the head!!! Grandma is there for the money. She is paying for the party so its her way. She doesn't like the diva look because she is in denial that her grandchild is growing up. She likes to keep things the way she would like, pink and frilly. I found some pictures in CC that I like. Most everything here is ballet, but I can change the shoe.

I really like this idea. Change the shoes to tap shoes and do a black and pink color scheme.

My daughter takes tap too. When I think of her tapping I think of a top hat and tap shoes. Her costumes for tap are always frilly with lots of tool(sp) and sparkle. I'd ask the childs favorite colors and go with it. I like alicia_froedges idea and adding tap shoes on the top instead of ballet. Good luck.

next question....how do I get the shoes black? Is petal dust the same as luster dust? I just used gold luster dust for the first time and it seemed pretty easy just painting it on.

Beautiful choice for the cake. I'm sure the little girl will love the cake no matter what.

Gramzilla struck again! This is now the one she wants. She changed her mind about the black tap shoes. She likes the pink ballerina shoes better. More frilly looking. She liked my idea with the fondant slippers but she liked this more. So this is the cake it is.
