Has anyone tried the Creamy Dreamy Buttercream using all butter instead of butter and crisco. I really would like to avoid crisco. I need to frost some cupcakes for my great nephew's 1st birthday party and I was wondering about how it would work and if anyone had attempted to do that. I love that recipe because it's not too sweet!

This is hands down the best non-cooked butter based icing I've tasted. It doesn't crust and isn't too sweet. Add any flavoring you like.

Make sure you beat it long enough.

Rosie's Buttercream

Yield: approx. 2 cups

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar

1 cup whipping cream, chilled

Place butter, sugar and cream in work bowl of food processor; process 5 minutes or until light and fluffy, stopping machine frequently to scrap sides. Transfer to medium mixing bowl. Beat on medium-high speed 15 to 20 minutes or until light and fluffy.

Thanks for that recipe. I can't wait to try it. It sounds delish. I ended up using Crisco in the icing and finished the cupcakes tonight. I still would like to know if anyone has tried it with all butter. I will try your recipe next. I just have to get some whipping cream.
