I really need some advice here. I made the cake, frosted, decorated, wrote the name. Then looked at the calendar, and realized I made it a week early! DOH! So now what? Can I freeze this cake for a week, or will it go bad. Just a vanilla cake with BC, nothing fancy.
I hope someone has some good news for me.

I think it should be fine.....just seal well, when i got married we forgot to put the grooms cake out....oops... anyway My Mother froze it and we ate it a couple of weeks later.......it tasted just fine.

I also froze the top layer of my wedding cake and instead of waiting a year we ate it at the one month anniv....it was still yummy.

I freeze my cakes after decorating if I plan to deliver on a later date. As stated before in a previous post be sure to wrap well and I also place in a large bag before placing in the freezer. I unwrap the cake and let it thaw at room temperature a few hours in advance before I transport or if you have to travel a long distance let it thaw during travel time.
