I have a request for the bride and groom's name and date in writing on a wedding cookie. This person found them on a cookie favor site that delivers. It is not written w/icing, it looks so professional. It looks like it was printed on with a computer. Does anyone know what this is? Is it a transfer sheet (on each cookie???) or something else?

it's edible ink printed on edible paper, cut small and placed on the wet icing so it dries smooth icon_smile.gif

i think there are edible ink cartridges available for most (if not all) canon printers.

i've never worked with them before but i hope this helps a little bit icon_smile.gif at least it's give you a bump! icon_biggrin.gif

have a nice one!

Those are printed by a machine that actually prints directly on the iced cookie. There have been several threads lately about them, I'll try to find one later and link it for you.

Also, I believe one of the members here just purchased the machine, can't remember who it was, but I'll try to find that one for you also.

IIRC, the machines are quite expensive . . .

Here's a link to a current thread, and at the end of it are links to two other older ones:

Here's a link to the thread of the member who just bought one of the machines:

The cookies in the picture are done with the edible images which are printed on frosting sheets. I am probably the one they were talking about just buying the Jet Printer machine, which is paperless. The process is done with a computer, scanner and templet to align the writing on each cookie. The machine has an arm that is 1/8 inch over the surface and sprays the image on the cookie. The printer can do very small cookies to the larger ones like the wedding cake cookie. The largest size it will print is 8x10. It also does cakes, and photos.

Thanks everyone for the response. This is the 1st time I every posted a forum question.

I sent an email to the company and they said those were airbrushed on. The sweet art printer definitely makes sense. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks again!

Do you think it would work to type up what you want in the font that you want, print out as many as you can on a sheet of paper, print out as many sheets as you need to have one for each cookie, then take them to your local grocery store bakery and have them print out edible images. Then you can just cut out each separate phrase and put it on the cookies.
