Thanks to all you cookie folks for all the info you share. These are my first MMF cookies - not perfect, but lots of fun!

Very cute and festive!!

I also made my first MMF cookies this weekend.. and my first bouquet! Will post in a few..

How did you make them? Did you attach the fondant right out of the oven, or once the cookies were cooled? Are the colors several layers of fondant, or did you roll them smooth?

I alternated strings of red and white, then rolled into a sheet for cutting. The blue/white is a very thin overlay.

How did the MMF taste on the cookies? I was thinking about making some for a function on thursday but I want them to be yummy! Did you put on the MMF right out of the oven? Your cookies are very cute bTW!!

Yes, the MMF was applied right out of the oven, very easy to work with.

I made this batch as a taste test for my daughter. She's a professional cook/caterer who wouldn't let me use icing at all on her wedding cookies last month (used colored, thinned cookie dough for the decorating). But she didn't get to visit for the holiday weekend, so still don't know what she'd think. I was pleased with the flavor and texture. It is sweet, so will aim to roll it thinner next time.

Thanks for the info rhondab. I think I will go ahead and use the MMF today in my baking adventures. Besides I just got that wilton textured rolling pin and I am dying to use it!! When you sister tastes them I would be curious to know her opinion since she is a pro! Thanks again!
