Does anyone have suggestions on sealing cellophane bags, instead of using ribbon. I have an order for baby shower cookies and I wanted to put tags on them (like a place card tag), but seal the bag first. Am I making any sense? Thanks for any suggestions.

Michael's and AC Moore have those tags that look like price tags in all different sizes. They are in the card stock section. They are the kind that have a hole in the end and you could tie them on with twine. You could write or type, or use stickers for their names on them.

You could use little colored clothes pins in coordinating colors, fold the bag down a couple of folds then pin the name tag and the bag together

How about using twist-ties. You can sometimes find them in different colors...

You may want to use a food sealer if you have one or know of someone you can borrow from, just a thought. icon_smile.gif

If you look at a website like uline.com or other packaging companies, you can find zip-lock style bags in just about any size you want. Then you could staple the tent-style tag right over the top. I've done this quite a bit, and it looks great.

Often, I just fold the top of the bag down a couple of times and use a small piece of tape to hold it shut.

There are times I don't want to fool with the ribbon, or want to be able to pack them neatly into a box, and this works well for me!

hth!

You could use a sticker...there are so many ones to choose from that I am certain there are appropriate ones for your packaging.

I love using my Foodsaver.

I have pictures in my gallery if you want to take a look.

It works great and looks very professional.

When I did the attached cookies for a baby boy announcement, I used cello bags, rolled down the top and just taped them. I've since made more of these and found "zip lock" cookie bags at my supply store (Flower Factory) which makes it very easy to seal them and just use two-sided tape to affix my label of choice to the top of the bag!

I have the Professional ll. I've had it for quite some time. I think it was one of th first ones. It's larger than the ones I've seen now, but it works great, I have used it for so many other things. It has a lot of different settings. I use just the heat setting when I do my cookies, then slide the blade acoss and it cuts the excess off.

It heat seals the cello bags.

If I am sealing something like meat I use the special foodsaver bags and it sucks the air out it and heat seals it.

To entertain the kiddies I have put an aluminum can in and it crushes it.

the ones like cambo did you can easily print out on your computer on some thicker card stock paper from the craft store and simply fold down the top some, put the folded piece of card stock and put a couple staples in it.........they look store bought and it helps to keep them fresh......and you can get really creative with what the tag says.....like the baby's name, created by (name the mom and dad) on the back...ingredients...if it's a girl..sugar and spice and everything nice...or love, affection, a dash of crying, etc. etc.
