So I made a cake for work to practice working with the ball pan (LOVE IT), and I decided to do the cactuc from Collette Peter's book. Easy enough to do, but I thought my hand would break doing all the stupid little pricky things. ANYWAY The cake is too tall to fit in my cake dome. So I put it in my Longaberger cake basket and it was fine. (Mistake number one, not having cake covered). And since I was going to work and it was in a basket, I did not put it in the back of my station wagon like I normally do, I decided to put it on the floor in the front seat. (Mistake number two) I then am driving to work and just grabbed my Yoplait smoothie bottle and put it on the front seat with my purse.... Then I had to slam on my breaks because of traffic as I watched icon_eek.gif my smoothie go FLYING off the seat and into my cute cactus cake. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Oh well at least I got a picture of it before the crash! And at least I did not get in an accident! Guess I will remember that I do things for a reason!

So sorry to hear about the "disaster" but so glad you didn't get in a wreck. At least you have a picture to show the folks at work so they will know what it was suppose to look like!

Awww.....I am sorry that happened to your cake! But as you said least you didn't have an accident! My hubbu has dropped something heavy onto two of my cakes in the past year, smack in the middle of them! icon_cry.gif

One little disaster was so much better than the big one that a wreck could have been! I know it hurt to see your cake (and all that work) messed up though...thank goodness for pictures!

I'd love to see your cake photo, I've seen the one of Collette Peters'.

I keep wondering why there are no extra tall cake boxes for these creations! I think the tallest one I've seen anywhere is 6", and it only came in one size! Janice

I am very glad you did not get into an accident! I have put cakes on the floor board and find that they don't do as well as if they are in the back of my SUV. I like taking cakes to my clients because they make me very nervous the way some of them put in in their cars! Anyway...I am glad you got a picture before this happened! I am sure it was really cute! icon_wink.gif
