Can anyone give me tips on transporting assembled tiered cakes-I know all cakes cannot be put together at site because of detailed work needed- I watched Duff on the Food channel and he delivers anything 4tiers &under fully assembled- how does this happen without shifting? Please help- I have only delivered 1 and did get some shifting which I could thankfully fix to where it was not noticed-thanx for any tips!!! icon_lol.gif

I have only delivered 2 large cakes. The first one was 3 tiers, and I delivered it complete. My DH drove and I sat in back with the cake and prayed over it. I didn't have any shifting, no problems. The second, which was five tiers, I stacked the bottom tiers, and then I stacked the middle tiers, and I carried the top cake by itself (so I basically ws carrying three cakes...I hope that makes sense). I stacked the whole thing at the venue, and added my borders. I would definitely do it this way again, even for a three tier cake, it was much less stressful for me. I hope this helps... good luck!
