I really admire the talent that everyone has on the site. I would love some constructive criticism/feedback on my latest posting! If there are ways I can improve...I'd love to hear them icon_biggrin.gif Thanks in advance!

Hey, Welcome to CC!!

I think your cakes are great! You're very creative! The only way to improve is to practice & practice. Doesn't look like you need to improve though! Great job!

Wow! Thank you. Practice makes perfect right? icon_smile.gif At least this practice is fun and tastes good! I'm having a horrific time learning to make flowers though! (primarily roses). Again, thank you!

Roses were the hardest thing for me to figure out!! My teacher said I was doing them wrong but I couldn't do them the way she was teaching them. So I finally figured out a way... MY WAY!! And I figured them out! Now I have a hard time doing them on hot days. I have hot hands too so the icing melts quick! You'll get the roses, once you do you'll be a rose making fool~ LOL!!

hmmm....learning from a teacher...that could be my problem. At this point in time, the only time I have that I can work on cakes is late late late. Until classes are offered from 9 pm - 2 am I think I'm out of luck icon_sad.gif

I think I'll adopt your attitude. I'll just practice until I get them right, MY WAY icon_smile.gif I'll let you know when I become a rose making fool -- at present I'm more of a gooey glob making fool icon_smile.gif

Kinda sounds like your teacher could've been a little more encouraging!

Even if you do take lessons who's to say you can understand what the instructor is trying to tell you? Sometimes (and I find this is best for me) it's just best to figure out things on your own. It is obvious to me that you definately have a gift for decorating, you just need to hone that gift.... that's what practice does. Good luck!

I appreciate the kind words debsuewoo. You're probably right about classes. I'm definitely the type of gal who listens to instructions and then tends to do things my way anyway. (I'm not sure that's a good thing!) icon_smile.gif

I definitely love decorating, so I'm bound and determined to figure out how to do a lot of this stuff!
