My daughter wants me to make some wedding bell cookies with color flow for her bridal shower. How far in advance can I make the sugar cookies and will the frosting make the cookies soggy if I make them ahead? Thanks for your kind replys

Cookies can be frozen at several stages, as dough, as cut out cookies, as baked cookies, and as fully decorated cookies.

the color flow will soften the cookie a bit, but if you freeze them (once they are dry) they will taste great. If they have a lot of decoration, you will want to thaw them not touching so the condensation won't effect the decoration.

I have frozen my fully decorated cookies (royal icing) for 2 weeks and they are just great when they come out.
