Hi everyone.
We just had my lil' prince first birthday party this past Sunday. I had spent all week on his birthday cake and cookies and I was soo depressed when my cake fell halfway through the party. I made a cake design like of pinkbunny. It's a topsy turvy kind and it was my first attempt at it with using wedges. I made the crown out of gumpast on Monday and it was still kind of wet. I had problems w/ that too. The crown wouldn't sit right and then broke in half on the cake I had to use alot of toothpicks to try to make it stay put. The house was crowded and the door was constantly open and so I think the Texas heat was partially to blame. Also maybe my doweling? I was wondering if anyone had tips and suggestions for me for when I am brave enough to try it again?

I must agree, the topsy turvy idea is too big for me at the moment. You did a GREAT JOB and I admire you. thumbs_up.gif

Wow! The cake looked great - except for the leaning. Never done one yet so I don't have any advice. Sorry! I would just blame the humidity!!

Sorry to hear it didn't hold up for you though!! You are brave to attempt it and I am sure you will get some advice and it will be a better experience next time!
