Has anyone used the Wilton Ready to Use Gel in a tube? I need a relatively small amount of black for a cake and I can't get Americolor in time. I know people have had trouble getting their BC black enough with Wilton color. Just wondering if this stuff will do the trick?

Or what else do you suggest??

I've used it for small details with no problems. thumbs_up.gif

Are referring to the icing tubes? I have used the black for FBCT and I didn't have any problems. Just be sure to knead the tube before using because it has oil in the tube.

I've used it before with very good results. If you look in my photos at the spider cake, that is what I used for the web. Hope this helps. thumbs_up.gif

I keep the tubes on hand for small details when decorating. It makes it alot easier to use those than having to mix different colours of icing for small amounts. No one notices the difference.

Oh, the spider cake was MG's. Not mine. I'm not that good.

Kate,

I wasn't specific enough. I am referring to the Wilton Decorating Gel, not the Wilton Decorating Icing. The gel comes in small little tubes and that is what I used for the spider web. The gel is shinier and the decorating icing is a buttercream consistency. Hope I didn't confuse you. icon_wink.gif
