I made a wedding cake for my daughter and worked really hard making it in a cabin kitchen (I took my ka mixer of course). I had a little problem with the icing while carrying it to the final table and ran a little short of icing and couldn't get to store easily from where I was, but I thought it was pretty with the woodsy background and my daughter was happy.

Here are mine...the hats I made for the hat cake competition that nobody but me entered! I spent so much time and effort on these and they ended up with so little notice.

Oh heck, this is one of the funnest forums EVER! I'm just going nuts trying to look at all of the pics. I still have dial-up service and I can't get around fast enough.

I've never seen any of these cakes before. Must not sleep, gotta stay awake until I see them all.

ellepal - Your cakes are so adorable!! Terrific work! I'm wondering, though, if you might get more views if you put some keywords in when you upload the photos. That way, if someone is searching for a particular idea and enters one of your keywords (maybe 3D, lion, pull toy, train, etc) your photos will show up.

Merissa~~ fun idea for a thread...thanks!!!!!

This cake took a really long time, but I had so much fun trying to match the invitation, I didn't really mind how long it took!

I know I'm new at this and my cakes don't come close to comparing with most of the talent here (no pity party -- just honest truth), but I'm still pretty proud of them. I have only 3 cakes posted and they total many views but only 6 comments -- 1 of them my response. icon_smile.gif

I just noticed this thread...late again, like with the scratch bakers' thread...Here are mine:

I was pretty happy with how these turned out (and they took a while):

http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_694073.html

And this one was my baby's 1st bday cake, and I was so proud of it (mainly b/c of the occasion) and there was wind like a hurricane that day at the park...it was horrible.

This is a great topic - thanks for setting it up!

I made a cake for my cousins 50th suprirse party for my family to take back with them (I couldn't go!). It was my first fondant cake, and I was so proud, and still am, but no one left any comments! Even though it's not naked, it's a bustier cake and I put it in the adult cake forum. Hope I don't get a hand smack for putting it in here - it really isn't dirty! I promise!

Hi, here is the link to my Cupcake Wedding Tier. I made this for my son's wedding June 30th. I havent made Decorated cakes in some time now. Not since the kid's were younger, and this is also my first wedding cake/cupcakes. My son and future daughter- in -law asked me and I couldnt say no. icon_smile.gif I was stressed about making 350+ cupcakes and transporting them 2 hours away. And I just started a new job 2 week's before the wedding. Let's just say our hotel room looked like a bakery and leave it at that icon_lol.gif Everything turned out well though and The Bride and Groom were very happy and loved the cake!

icon_eek.gif I have missed a lot of these cakes! You guys all do an excellent job, and I got a few new favs from this thread, thanks for posting!
Here's a couple of my favorites, couldn't figure out why there were hardly any comments:

The last one is the one I am most proud of, I spent the night before making 2 cakes, then the next day I was in the kitchen nearly all day frosting, decorating, then cleaning, all this in between looking after my 3 kiddies (hubby helped with the kids some but they just love being with mommy when she's decorating!).
