Ok here is one of my cakes that took me FOREVER to do .. BUT I was VERY pleased with how it came out! I was surprised that it didn't have many more viewers ...

Well, here are the two I am most proud of. I got some good feedback on the graduation cake, but I thought for sure I would get more on the baby shower cake. I loved it. Perhaps I could have improved on the design? I know my writing isn't the best but I thought it was decent...no? Any feedback is appreciated.

See, when I look through cakes, the colors aren't always what attracts me most. I can change the color of a design to anything I want. I think the zebra look is cool with the big bow. Very chic.
Ok I want to jump in....
I loved this cake (even though I had trouble getting the fondant to match the BC colors -- didn't let it set long enough)
only a few views and comments...

thanks! this is great! I can't keep up with all the amazing work here!
Here are the two I am most proud of. My sister-in-law says that the people in the hospital she works at, and the ladies in the beauty shop are still talking about Chuck's armadillo. I feel SOOOOOO Steel Magnolias!!

Thanks for looking and sharing all of your great cakes. ( I've been browsing this thread for an hour )
Here's mine. This is a hand-painted monet that I did for a dossant party (the NC art museum had a Monet exhibit at the time). This was all hand-painted in buttercream & thinned down gel colors on MMF & then put on top of my luscious opera cake. I was SOOOO proud of this cake, but I guess a lot of decorators don't necessarily search for "Monet" on the site.

Ok I'm going to add mine from this weekend. got a few views but bugger all comments. I did this for my son's 6th birthday and he was so proud of it and so was I for that matter. I put a lot of work into this one more than any other cake it seemed to take forever. Thanks for having another look.

I love this thread! I'm finding alot of new favorites!
Sometimes there are so many great cakes posted that it is easy for a cake to go unnoticed. With 100s of cakes posted a day, they move quickly off page 1. I also think subject matter has alot to do with it. I did a clamming cake that didn't get alot of comments, but how many people are actually going to do a clamming cake?? Two weekends ago, I did two cakes - a motorcycle cake and a beach theme w/ a priest. Uploaded within minutes of each other. The motorcycle got tons of hits and comments, the beach theme with the priest & his dog, 2. It was funny b/c I thought the idea was cute and could be adapted to anyone - people love the beach!

i need to post again.
i know all about the photos being posted at the same time, and people too busy to comment, yadda yadda yadda. I understand completely, but I was still disapointed in the number of views and complete lack of comments....
I WON a BLUE RIBBON at the fair! woohoo!
(but few views and no comments )

thanks for looking!
Jen! I guess I haven't been looking in the galleries, but your cake is awesome!! I'm glad you posted. I love how you did the fondant waves also - it's no wonder you won a blue ribbon!!!
I am really proud of this cake!! This is the second time I have used mmf (the first was my son's Mater cake, which he loved!) and I had a ton of fun doing it. It was the first time that designed the whole concept & didn't just copy a character.
Researching mmf tips for these cakes is what got me addicted here!! Now I can't wait for the next excuse to bake my family a cake!

I put blood, sweat, and tears into my go diego go, train cake (not literally, that would be gross ) I was sad to only get one comment
Sarahkate80 your cake is adorable! Please post a link so people can get to your cake easier.
Well, hahahaha, lesson learnt the hard way, don't post new cake pictures on a Saturday night!
I made this cake for an animal-loving little girl who thought up her own design ELEVEN MONTHS before her birthday (she specifically wanted a puppy and pawprints...then later her dad asked me to cover the cake in "that stuff" ie: fondant, lol) ! I just loved making this, loved the puppy and the colors. Later the mom told me the little girl was over the moon with happiness over it. And.... in the gallery it barely made a splash.

I would like to do this again but with different colors, maybe a different color cake too....
This is such an awesome thread I have enjoyed it sooo much! So if anyone still has a under noticed cake feel free to post it, I'm still checking every day to see if there are new posts!
Deborah
Like I said before........too bad that I can't post my entire gallery!!!!!!!!!!
Obviously, 99% are NOT your garden variety cakes, but interestingly enough the ones that get the most notice are the 1% garden variety. Very interesting indeed!!!
I've so enjoyed following this thread. I'm not sure that these cakes were 'under noticed', but I had so much fun making my first two sculpted cakes that I'd like to share them.

This is my favorite cake. I have a ball making it and it was the only cake I've ever made where everything just flowed. The birthday was for twins and they got such a kick out of it.

Ok, I give up! It's the pool party cake in my photos.
