I got distracted and forgot to post mine.

It is completely edible with the exception of the threaded post up the center and some nuts, washers and the plate the cake is on.

I used molded sugar, fondant, pulled sugar, royal icing, buttercream and cake.

I used things around the house for molds like custard dishes, pepto bismal medicine cups, a pie pan round cookie cutters....

Here are some of mine. There not the best. But I love doing 3D cakes. It is much more challenging than just a sheet cake.

These are soooo cool. It is truly amazing that cake can be used as a medium for such unique sculptures.

Keep them coming.....

Thanks for starting this post..sounds like fun!

Wow that dragon must have taken a long time...all those scales!

I have a love/hate relationship with 3D's. Someone mentioned in a recent post that when doing a cake "she was afraid people would know she was a (cake)fraud" How well I know that feeling! I guess I am just a glutton for punishment..and ummm...cake scrapes.......

I have an Elmo cake that turned out very well but I had lots of help from CC and instructions from (?)(Her name is under the photo in my pics)...
....anyway, as incredibly grateful as I am when I get help I am a little prouder of the ones where I start out clueless.

Here are 3 of my favs...

The fondant color was wrong to start off with so I had make another color. The scales were 1 1/2 hour after kids went to bed and nice tall glass of kaula and cream next to me to help stamp each scale.

Great cakes everyone

One of my favorites is the monkey princess I did for a co-worker's daughter after she saw the princess Hello Kitty. (Sorry I can't find my folder of resized pics to attach.)
I'm proud of the castle cake I did for my daughter last year. It was one of my first cakes and she loved it.
I also had alot of fun with pirate ship and treasure chest for my son last year. They're all in my gallery.

I have a few that I like how they turned out- they are 3D, but not sculpted.

Here is one of my most recent that falls under both categories:
