this guy is all modeling chocolate and fondant with the exception of the strings. I used ganache to frost it to grab those super sharp corners with a bench scraper!

8" cakes stacked and carved.  Sugar bottles with eatable images.  Sugar ice.  Bottle caps are real, haven't mastered those.

I love seeing all these cakes- you all are extremely talented! Here is my first attempt at a sculpted cake. It took approximately 90 times longer than I expected. :)

AHOW COULD ANYONE CUT INTO THIS GUY? My god, you guys are all amazing.

Estrele- did someone give you artwork for that? Or did the client say "I'd like a dog playing upright bass?"

AI have only done a few sculpted cakes- making that first cut is the hardest part-- ha!!! There is a description- hints etc under each cake in the gallery- the Homer cake came out better than expected AND-- I happen to be out in the City with the Executive Producer of The Simpsons the night before that cake was delivered--- she wanted to send pics to the creator and illustrator of the show!!! I hope she didnt-- ha!!!!

A little bit of carving- gumpaste disc- black fondant. I tried to replicate my white xbox (posted in my gallery) but... Ha. I made this cake after viewing the how-to video from My Cake School- thanks Mellissa. Cakes are 8 in yellow and fries (lightly toasted) and a 9 in chocolate for burger- buttercream frosting with modeling chocolate condiments. I dry dusted the shading as I do not own an airbrush (yet)- probably would have looked better with an airbrush- the lettuce was much greener in person- not sure why it has a blue tone in pics- I also made ice cream cone cupcakes that were a disaster by the time I arrived at the party- they kept tipping over- ugh!"]http://cakecentral.com/content/type/61/id/2360908/width/350/height/700[/IMG]

Here's one of my dino cake creations: 2 dinosures talk next to a volcano :) The lg dino is baked in a bowling pin pan w/egg cupcake head and rice treats tail & legs; the other is a round and the volcano is baked in the WonderMold/doll skirt pan. All iced with buttercream.

And a birdfeeder: There really isn't any catagory this fits in so I thought someone retiring might be planning to do some serious birdwatching :) After seeing someone on here make one of these I *JUST HAD* to make one. This is a dummy that I entered into my county fair and just now found out I won best of show :) I must say there were only 2 other enteries besides the 3 I entered:( Still it's a thrill to get best of show. It consists of a 4x1&6x1 on the bottom then four 4x2 layers; topped off w/a 6x1, 4x1 and 3x1. The top & bottom are covered in fondant. The center part is iced w/b'cream then rolled in a mixture of poppyseeds; sesame seeds; finely chopped dried cranberries; toasted cake crumbs & sunflower seed kernels. Birds are fondant; perches are pretzel sticks.

A puppy dog:Could this be the next "1st dog"? :) It's all edible down to the dragonfly he is nose to nose to:) - iced in buttercream. I used 2 Wonder mold (doll skirt pan) cakes (head & rump) and a mini, cut in 1/2 (rear haunches).

Remember I retired over 8 yrs ago so I'm not into the newest, most creative sculpting.

AOMG these are all so amazing! I've not done a huge amount of sculpting, but I was really pleased with this doggy one I did last year! (Excuse the rolling pin behind him, it was the only photo I managed to get!) His nose was my favourite part, made of chocolate paste!
