I get a really big kick out of the sculpted & 3D cakes. I thought it would be fun to start a thread about your best one and the stories of creating it. Good, bad, ugly..... icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Can't wait to see your pics.

Here are 2 of mine.

1st is my Spidey! I did a whole post about how the cake turned young and old guest's tongues red!!! It was a sight to see. Really fun cake to do though.

Next is my Pikachu. All was going well until his lightning bolt tail decided to split and fall and hour before delivery! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif Oh well, I was able to attach the two pieces together and lay it beside him instead.

Enjoy!

Noosie,
You are very talented, I love the Spiderman cake.
When I saw the picture I call my 6 years old son to take a look and now he wants one just like yours, he is obsessed with Spiderman.
I would love to know how you made that cake, I'm just a beginner but I'm very crafty and love entertaining.

Wendy1273 - Thany you for the compliment. There is actually a step by step tutorial online. If you google search for spiderman bust cake you should be able to find it. I'll search for you to then post the link.

I'm lovin these cakes. I haven't seen these. They look great. The baby pug and whale are neat!

The little shop of horrors cake is perfect! I can't remember his name though.....

These are so cool, love the dragon. Have been wanting to make one but don't have the nerve yet!. Unfortunatly my best 3-D cake is one I am embarrased I even made (male anatomy, naughty section http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=432353) icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif you won't hurt my feelings if you don't look. I only made it cause my niece asked.

The others are a spaghetti cake I made for my nephew:
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=470383 that I totally ripped off from the CC gallery

and a baloney sandwich:
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=742353 was a nightmare to bake but really easy to make and the kids loved it!!

Great job though!

I love cake sculpture. Most of my pictures (but not my recent ones, unfortunately) are on my website under "Sculpted Cakes." I think my favorite ones are the Father Christmas cake that is in My Photos here, the rabbit in my avatar, or the Spaniel that says "happy birthday, Stacey" on my website.

I haven't done a ton of the sculptured cakes - not even sure if this "technicall" fits, but it's the closest I have. It's my spa cake that I did for a bridal shower. It was so much fun. The fondant pieces got so heavy that overnight they blew the back of the bathtub out. LOL My head was laying on the counter, three feet away from the cake! LOL I was able to repair it, and no one even knew.

To date, it's still one of my favorites that I've done.

Oops, I'm unable to add the picture, as I'm not on the computer where it's located. It's in my pics tho.

Thanks noosie, just don't tell anybody, it will be our secret. LOL people keep asking me to make one for their showers, won't do it. My grandchildren live with me, had to lock myself in the bedroom to work on it so they wouldn't see. Not that there's anything wrong with it but OH MY icon_redface.gificon_rolleyes.gif the 'splaining!!

LOL...dolfin!

I'm sorry. At first glance I thought those were wind pipes/blow holes/organ tubes on the top! I was like "wtf???" Then I put my own chicken down and took a closer look to see that it was fingers. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I almost choked ON my chicken!!!
