I've been asked to make a b'day cake for a 10 yr old. They want me to incorporate race car(s) with poker. Yes, he plays poker icon_confused.gif and loves the races both nascar and dirt track. Any creative ideas from anyone would be appreciated. His father wants both on the cake. I have 2 weeks to plan this out and execute it. Size and shape is up to me. HELP!

What about putting an ace of spades or club, etc. on the side of the racecar? And maybe in one corner putting up a banner (maybe paper stretched between two toothpicks) advertising the "Brian Jones Poker 400," like he's the sponsor of the race?

What if you did a race track made out of fondant playing cards. Then, you can put a car traveling along the "track" (either out of fondant, or just a toy). Then, you could do just a basic border, but put the poker chips along the bottom of the cake?

Well, you might be able to make a circular cake and decorate it as a poker chip with fondant but then u could make a race car out of fondant or butercream frosting and put it in the middle of the cake and maybe write 100 on the side of the car or something.

In my pictures I have a picture of a stacked poker chip cake. What if you did something similar to that and then on the top chip you could make a race track along the top outer edge and put a race car on it. Then in the center you could write Happy Birthday ___!

Oh I like both mqguffey's and Chris's ideas. Maybe even a combo? They both sound visually stunning. I also found this image of a racing jack on google that you could maybe incorporate into the design. I can't wait to see the pictures!

You can do a poker table with chips.. and add fondant cards with his favorite race car drivers on it.. Gotta edible image printer?? You can add the driver onto a image and put it on the fondant cards..

sheet cake that looks like large oval race track

cars: well they're not cars -- they're flat playing cards w/ poker chip wheels.

on scoreboard: the values of the cards.

name of race: ante up race to riches
