Cake mix extender question

I have used the cake mix extender on both chocolate and white box cakes. I noticed that the white tastes exactly the same and is super moist, but even though the chocolate is still moist, it doesn't taste that great. It doesn't taste bad, it just seems like it takes away a lot of the chocolate flavor. Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any suggestions? icon_confused.gif

I have noticed this before and I just add 1/4 c of cocoa powder to add to the chocolatey taste.

I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CAKE EXTENDER IN CHOCOLATE OR WHITE. I REALLY LIKE THAT RECIPE. WHOEVER CAME UP WITH IT THANKS. THE ONLY PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THAT I ALWAYS HAVE MORE MIX THAN WHAT I NEED. DOES ANYONE KNOW EXACTLY HOW MANY CAKE MIXES I WOULD USE FOR A 1/2 SHEET CAKE WHEN I AM USING THE CAKE EXTENDER. I have a 12x18 sheet cake to make on Friday and thought about using the cake mix extender for that. I've never used it before and am kind of scared to use it on a cake order before I've made it and tried it here at home. Do you have to bake any longer or alter anything when baking it? I will probably just stick with what I usually do for this one and try the extender next week sometime.

I have used the cake mix extender in the last three cakes I've made and LOVE IT!! I have used strawberry yogurt in a white cake and then the regular yogurt in the chocolate. DH finished the last piece of choc. cake with peanut butter frosting last night and was saying something about maybe having a cake made with the cake extender recipe on hand?!?!?!? at all times!
