OK, After the big sale at Hobby Lobby, I need more space. I have two caddies, one wilton and the other is a tackle box. Can anyone give me ideals on what else I could use. I like have all my supplies together, so I really need something not too big, but bigger than what I have.

kris, it's time to hit Lowes or Home Depot. I just added a much larger plastic tool box to my regular caddy. It's not too big 22 x 12 x 10", okay it's GINORMOUS but it holds all my fondant & gumpaste tools. It also has a nice lift out tray for all the little things that always seem to get lost.

I really like the plastic rolling carts with drawers. You can organize things into seperate drawers and when you need it roll it out of the closet and into the kitchen and back again when your done.

This is one of those age old questions. I'm not sure anyone of us have truely mastered teh delima on how to store cake supplies. It seems just when you have it all figured out you buy more and there goes your plan. It also depends on how much room you have, what supplies you have and so on.

I've done the rolling carts with drawers, bought on sale, and they worked great, but I have out grown them by buying more and more things. Right now I'm currently trying to buy enough plastic containers to be able to neatly organize my cake stuff. I'm putting like things together. Problem is no matter how many containers I buy I keep needed more.

I'm lucky enough that I have a whole room for cake stuff, so space isn't an issues, the bigger issue for me is finding a way that works best for me. Hopefully the shelves and plastic containers works out for me.

Also be sure to search the board for past posts, this topic has come up several times and there have been some good solutions in past threads on the topic.

I bought a huge fishing box from Gander Mountain that I LOVE! It has about 8-10 plastic trays that you can divide the way you want (With included plastic inserts), as well as a very large, deep storage compartment on top. This kit holds my gumpaste tools, icing tools, bags, tips, dragees, sprinkles, food coloring, icing roller, stencils, brushes, luster dust, spatulas...get the idea!?!?!
It's wonderful since I have a tiny kitchen...I just store it in the basement, and then count it as my workout when I have to drag it upstairs! HA!

Maybe we can get one of those "mission organization" shows to help a CC member get things in order! LOL!!

my husband gave me a rolling tool box from home depot (for christmas) and it holds all my decorating supplies. Has a pocket on side for books, removable tray that holds food coloring gel, pens ect. pull out tray for tips and two spacious boxes for spatulas, icing bags, parchment paper and whatever else you need. The lid also had two covered compartments for stuff I use all the time. It is lightweight and boxes are removable for easy cleaning. I used it while taking the wilton cake decorating courses and it saved me from having to make several trips from car to class to unload everything. I even had bungee cords to strap cake to lid (iced not decorated and boxed of course). I loved it. Now it sits in my pantry and whenever I need to make a cake I roll it out and everything I need is there. Now if I could find something for my cake pans and carriers!!! PS. was on sale for $24.00

I have 2 roller 7 drawer roller carts and love them! My pans are hanging on the utility room wall or in 4 large Sterilite boxes (with labels).

I have the big red steel rolling tool box from Wal-Mart that my son bought me for Christmas two years ago. The top drawers hold my tips for each different media (buttercream, royal), gumpaste tools/cutters, gel and dust colors.

The bottom, which is a cabinet with shelves, holds my Dremel, airbrush, hot glue gun, and hand tools.

What do you use your Dremel for?

Dremel uses -- For trimming pastillage, or smoothing rough edges on gumpaste or fondant flowers or leaves, spot sanding.

Hello here is an idea i went to Wal_mart and got a plastic hevey duty cabinet container on whells about $15.00 the 3 drawer is 12 and stored evey thing in it it has 3 small drawers and two big ones it looks good in my kitchen and does not use much room It is the area of where all the buckets and and stuff are. Hope it helps

The perfect thing for me would be a closet full of shelves but since I don't have that I really want to get a big craftsman tool box with all of the drawers and on wheels like my dh has for his tools. Maybe for Christmas lol.
I also have 2 of the tool caddys and I need about 4 more lol.
