Hey everyone, icon_biggrin.gif

I am sure I am not the first, nor the last to say this. But I wanted to share a few of my recent cakes and tell everyone how thankful I am for cake central!! I feel like I am finally coming along with my cakes and I honestly owe it to this website!!! Being a work at home mom with 3 little ones under 4 I don't get to post too often.. but I on here constantly with the rest of you (haha) and just cannot believe how much I have learned.
This place is just invaluable!! and I also thank everyone who has taken the time with me on PMs. Your knowledge and guidance is more than I could ever ask for or expect!!

Anyway... just wanted to say although I am not a somebody yet LOL .. I am getting there faster than I ever thought I would. We're closing on a house next month and hopefully I will get my licensed home kitchen for the new year!

Thanks again everyone!! thumbs_up.gif There is no way I could have made any of these cakes without cake central!!

I am open to any and all comments, critiques, etc.

WOW!!!!!!!! Your cakes are BEAUTIFUL! I can't imagine how you do it with 3 little ones. I have two and at times get stressed (although I'm really new at decorating). I agree...CC is an awsome website and I've learned sooooo much from reading all the posts. I think I'd be lost without visiting this place!

They are all wonderful. How do you do that ruffle on the first cake. Mine look like s---! But to put one exactly on top of the other - wow - is there a trick to that?

Thank you very much for your kind words everyone!! I have a long ways to go.. but am inspired everyday buy everyone on here!!

CakeDiva73 ... the rainbow is fondant colored with Americolr electric colors. I made a template using my 6in cake pan since that was the size of the cake... then I cut out a thin piece of white fondant to use as a backing for the colored strips to stick to... then I cut out trips of colored fondant stuck them on as a rainbow and rolled over them a little bit with my roller to help them stay close together.

joanmary .. those ruffles were such a challenge for me!! LOL Especially because that was a soft cream cheese icing.. the bottom row was horrible and luckily the second row helped it out... the second row seemed to be easier since I followed the up and down pattern of the first. i believe I used a tip 127 for the bottom ruffle and a 125 for the top. and shells under the bottom row. I practiced A LOT before actually putting them on the cake.. It took a lot to find my "rhythm" with them.

Hear Hear!!! I lift my glass in praise of CC and all who contribute to make this site my favourite hangout lol I love the ideas, the photos and the quick answers when we are in a tight bind it's almost like a chat room with how fast the responses flow in. I like that we can laugh at ourselves and not feel bad because others are not afraid to chime in and tell about their mistakes and mishaps. And to the people that keep this site going I thank you one and all for a job well done.
