Hi Everyone--

I've seen the wine glasses as a cake base/pillars. What other creative ideas do you CCers have? I've thought of using a plate rack (like the picture) and placing a cake on each tier. I'm a beginner, and haven't learned to stack a cake yet, but thought this would be a cool idea!

That would look very pretty if you decorated the plate rack with some flowers. I would just make sure that the cakes are not too high so that when you place the cake on the rack it does not touch the other layer.

Thanks! I also want to make sure the cake boards don't slip through the circles! I was thinking with two-layer cakes on each tier, it would be great for a birthday.

I like it! I have two pie racks that I use! I also have a plant stand that makes a wonderful cake stand!

A while back a CC poster glued a summer decorated plate to a matching summer cup (like a stand) then she glued 3 together to make a cupcake stand! It was great and she got them all at the $1 store!

Thats a really good idea...that would look pretty decorated or with a different flavor/decorated cake on each layer that has the same theme....the possibilities are endless lol
