I have made fondant pearls by hand using the directions from Earlene's site, but I find they don't look like a string of pearls when I use them as a border.

Has anyone had luck with the bead maker pearl molds that make a whole string of attached pearls?

I have heard that some molds are better than others and I wanted to know if anyone has a really good one.

Thanks!

I've always done my pearls by hand. I'm keeping an eye on a bead maker at the craft store but the darn thing is more than I want to spend. I'd like to know if its worth the money too.

I have several silicone beadmaker molds from CK and some hard plastic molds from FMM. I prefer the ones from CK as I get better looking string of pearls from them. Sometimes I still get those extra fondant pieces between the beads but they are easily removed with a pair of tweezers.

These are the ones I like from Country Kitchens: http://www.countrykitchensa.com/catalog/SearchResults.aspx?description=bead%20maker&page=-1

These are the ones from FMM that I have and do not use: http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=18757

Thank you. What size did you buy?

I'm thinking I would mostly use them on wedding tiers so which would be most appropriate?

6mm?

8mm?

Not sure which one....

You'll think I'm crazy but I love cake toys so I have all sizes. I use 6mm and 8mm the most. It's good to have at least 2 sizes so you can use the small one for the smaller tiers and the big one for the others.
