This is very cool...I was on my way to the fair to pick up my autumn wedding cake (that won 1st and Best of Division yada yada) that is in my pics below. I was hoping to find a place locally soon to display it eventually, but I hate "cold calling" on shops...
Well. On the way to the fair, I stopped at my chiropractor's office, and we got chatting about my new business, and he said, "Well, did you know there's a new bridal shop going in right behind Napa..." I stopped by and they're not quite open yet, but I called, and she answered and said I could definitely drop my cake off for her to display, and that she'd be open tomorrow!! 
It was very impromptu, but she seemed really cool, so I picked up the cake at the fair and dropped it straight off at her shop (saved it driving around as much as possible, which is great!) and left her some cards, and I'm taking her a photo album Wed, tho she said she didn't need samples.
You can imagine how excited I am about it--until now I've been just a little ad locally but haven't made the time to get out there and actively make contacts with the local shops. She's the first bridal shop that's been in our town in 22 years...hopefully that's a good thing!

Just remember its a two way street and as she will help sell your product do what you can to sell hers. Remind her why she is displaying your cake. And make sure the customers you send over mention you.
