I baked, just today, three cakes...6", 8" and 10" for a 40th anniversary cake for my dh's parents. The party is on Sunday, but it's a three hour flight away!! I had to bake today because we're flying tomorrow, which leaves Sunday morning to decorate before the party Sunday afternoon. Here's what I thought...torte and then freeze them and place them in their pans to hopefully prevent squashing. Pack them at the last possible moment in a bin which will also contain my tools of the trade. By the time we get there, if they've defrosted, then fine. Anyone have a better idea??? I'm at a loss and really want to do this right. Any suggestions are sooooo welcome.

Thanks,
Teresa

I'm so sorry no one answered your question. I hope everything went okay for you. I don't do many cakes so I'm afraid I wouldn't be of much help. It sounded like you had a really good plan, though.

I don't know if you realize that you posted this question in the "cookie area." Maybe people read the post and were unable to offer any suggestions. Again, people like me. icon_lol.gif

How did it go? Did your cake make it? How did it look? I'll bet your in-laws loved it!
