Hi all, I need help. I cook a pound cake and it taste really good but it also taste dry I tryed to add sour cream to it but it loose that velvet feel to it when I do that. What can I do to get a mosit pound cake without looseing that velvet feel?
This is the recipes I use:
Pound cake
4 cups of cake flour
3 cups of sugar
6 eggs
2 sticks of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of lemon extract
half a pint of whipping cream
Mix sugar and flour. add eggs one at a time. Places your butter in (which should be very soft) with your Vanilla and lemon extract. Mix well and add your whipping cream. bake at 325 until done.
This really taste good but is a little dry. Help Please!!
That sounds delicious, but it also sounds like a lot of flour! When I make my pound cake, I beat the egg whites separately and then fold them into the batter..not sure if that helps or not!
