Great tip from my instructor! - Page 6

This is a awesome trick!!

I hate cleaning the featherweights and they fly all over the dishwasher (even with a clothespin hold them to the rack).

Thanks, B

great idea! Thanks. Will this work for both buttercream and royal icing as well? I don't know if this was asked. I didn't read every page of this thread.

Last year i went to a seminar where one of the demonstrators showed us something similar to this but using a freezer bag, that she pulled through the bag and filled with royal icing. It never occured to me to use it with buttercream. This is a lot better i think, because you dont have to remove the tip.
sooo cool

I do this all the time now. And it has saved me alot of mess and ALOT of money. Like today I did 2 cakes and used four bags with several colors. If some of the icing got in the bag all I had to do was flush it out with some HOT water. I didn't think it would work with Royal now I know I can use a freezer bag and it will. Thanks for the tip boonenati thumbs_up.gif

This is awsome, I can see that striping will be much easier. And the cleanup - wow, what a plus. Thanks for posting.

I've done this same thing using a plastic storage or sandwich bags (the ones with twist ties). Make a knot to tie the end closed and cut a hole in a corner of the bag then insert the cut end in the tip. Same concept but the bags work easier for me and they're something I always have.
