What a great idea! ... especially when you are using multiple colors and are limited with the number of pastry bags you own! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks soo much this will save so much time on clean up and the pictures were really usefull!
Wow! Clean up will be shortened greatly with this tip! Thank you so much for this VERY Helpful technique!!
I use this method all the time and think it is a brilliant technique! Who ever came up with this idea has saved me tons of time and tons of sticky messes!
It works great for storing and transporting icing as well. You just twist up both ends and when you are ready to use it cut one end off and drop it in the bag.
That's an awesome idea! Thanks!
Since I'm new to this, this sounds like a great tip. Certainly will make clean up a lot easier too. Any advise on using the icing tip. My icing doesn't spread as easily as my instructor showed me so it looks a bit messy. Thanks.
Thanks so much for sharing. I'm pretty new at decorating and will take all the help I can get!
We used this method where I used to work, though our method was a little different. We rolled all the icing we would need for the next day the night before. It sure saved time. I don't know why anyone would do it differently, it makes clean up much easier. I even use it when I use the large 789 tip when I ice my cakes.
Wow I just learned something new. Thank you so much newlyweds I will try this for my next baking project.
Wow ! That was a wonderful tip from your instructor . Very interesting . Thanks for the great share .
I can't believe I just discovered these forums.... and this is a WONDERFUL idea...can't wait to try it!!!
Awesome, what a great tip. I'll have to try that! Thanks so much for explaining it so well and posting the pictures - It is so easy to follow. I have to do two cakes tomorrow and this should make it go cleaner and faster. Again, Thanks!!
This is a great tip! Thank you so much for sharing.
To do color striping, instead of doing two different wraps and putting them in the same bag, could you just layer or place the different colors side by side in the same wrap? This could also work great for painting stripes on the plastic wrap and filling with white icing so that you don't have to get icing in your color from double dipping like you do when you fill the bag directly.
I was taught to put water in a 2 cup liquid measuring cup, for example if you need 1 cup Crisco put 1 cup water in a 2 cup liquid measure. Spoon in Crisco until the liquid reaches the 2 cup line. Pour off the liquid.
This is an awesome tip. I tried it for the first time this weekending doing three colors (yellow, red, and black) for my son's Iron Man birthday cake. Worked great and so much easier to clean up!
