OK, I want to enter a couple of cakes into the state fair. One for taste and one for decoration.
I would appreciate it so much if y'all would share with me the instructions for your very BESTEST scratch cake recipe.
I tried making a scratch cake one time before and it came out so dry I have not attempted to make one since!
Any help would be really appreciated!
Thank you
I'll give you a bump because I can never get scratch cakes to come out either. Have you ever entered in the fair before? I was looking into decorating one myself, but I think I would have to enter in Professional (which I am not) because I have taught Wilton classes.
I have never entered into any kind of competition at all, but I thought it would be fun, Because I have always loved the exhibits at the fair ever since I was a little kid.
I was reading all the guidelines for entering, and it does not seem too complicated.
I am glad there is a non professional catagory, if it wasn't I would probably not even bother to enter!
Thanks for the bump too!
if you don't hear from me within a day, pm me and I'll write back a recipe I have that tastes good for the homemade (not allowed to post it) taste comp. What are you looking for?
I recently submitted a red velvet cake recipe to this website. I've never had a complaint and often get requests for the recipe. I used the recipe in a jr. contest when I was younger, and walked away w/ a blue ribbon.
