okay maybe i've screwed this up.... i followed the recipe on the box - but I want this to be for a wedding so I want it to be durable - although it will be the top layer.... can I just add some vanilla pudding to it or if I do that do I have to add other stuff too?
The box called for 1 1/2 cup water
2 tb veg oil
3 egg whites
the durable recipe calls for
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup veg oil
4 egg whites
vanilla pudding mix
1 cup sour cream....
can i just add pudding???
You can add the pudding and an extra egg. You may want to use white chocolate pudding to keep the cake more white.

Imartsy.....where in Lousiville do you live? We just move away from there 2 years ago....I miss it alot! We lived in Cresent Hill on Hillcrest Ave . St Joes just had their big picnic I heard.
um.... added the pudding - forgot the extra egg.... cracked it and seperated the egg white, but didn't actually add it in the cake.... so let's hope it works! I have a small 4 in. cake that I'll use as a tester - but I really don't want to bake it again!
sundine2, I'll PM you.....
Thanks!
It should be ok, even without the extra egg. Let us know how it goes...

I feel your pain, I'm doing my first wedding cake next week....
I think it's turned out okay.... I made 2 6 in. cakes and then had a little batter left and made a small 4 in. one to tastes. It tastes pretty good but doens't have the very vanilla taste I was going for..... it's white cake with a hint of vanilla.... I put a tablespoon of pure vanilla in it and vanilla pudding.... but I just wanted a "richer" flavor and didn't get it..... but it did turn out okay and it will have vanilla buttercream on it so it should work out just fine. Thanks all for your help!
