When making a stacked cake, what do you cover the cardboard cake board with?

for the board in between the layers-I do mine with contact paper front and back side this way it doesn't absorb any moisture

For the bottom board I double it and use foil wrap

You are talking about the board in between the stacked layers, right? (Not the base/cake drum).

Since no one will be seeing it, I just use plain foil, but like marcimang mentioned you don't want it to absorb moisture, so I make sure I cover it well.

I recently purchased Press N Seal, which I think could work well too. I used it to cover a "dummy cake" for the base of a Topsy Turvy cake I did recently and it worked wonders. I think I will try it on my next stacked- between the layers.

Good luck with your cake...you'll do great!!
