I thought I'd look around for new Christmas themed cookie cutters. I found a snow globe cutter and was wondering how to decorate the cookie so it looks like a real snow globe..........how do I get the glass effect?

I thought about decorating the cookie first with royal icing. Maybe 'paint' a scene then spread clear piping gel over the cookie.

Does piping gel dry? Or does it stay sticky?

I'm not sure about using the piping gel over the painting, it might make your painted image run.

How about using one of the dusts to give it a little sparkle? You could brush it on after the painting is dry. Maybe the pearl dust or disco dust?

i think your idea is a great idea. but i do think it will stay sticky
maybe when you do the clear gell add in White Nonpareils and that way it would look kind of that 3-d snow effect in a snow globe. i hope it works out for you let us not know it turns out. we love to see photos

edited to fix my spelling
