I bought some too, and it was way too sweet! I added a little cake flower and mixed in the KA. Worked like a dream, and made a super smooth icing!

you can try adding a pinch of salt or add some cream cheese that really helps tone it down.......but it will be perishable at room temp if you add the cream cheese so keep that in mind.

Add a little lemon juice

Try adding a *bit* of clear butter extract. The salt idea is good, too. The butter extract will help to tone it down.

I recently tried adding cake flour. I thought it would taste pasty, but it was truly great!

Be careful with the salt. I have added too much of "a pinch" before and it really stood out. Also, dissolve the salt in a little warm water before adding because it can make your cake look spotty.

I made a batch of buttercream last night, and I added just a pinch or so of salt because the icing was just a tiny bit too sweet and it worked fine.
Just be careful not to add too much.
