I did a cake for our Assemblymans political fundraiser/daughters birthday. I offered to deliver the cake because I had to drive by the place anyway. I get there and no one mentions $$. I had a bill attacked to the cake. I figured OK no big deal his treasurer will write me a check the next day. Well days went by, no call, no check. SO I mailed another bill directly to his home. Again no call, no check. My hubby asked if maybe it was considered a donation since it was a fundraiser. BUT when the guy called he said he was calling on a business matter. Plus there was a bill attached to the box. What now, do I pick up the phone and call?? Threaten not to vote for him if I don't receive payment icon_biggrin.gif ? It is frustrating. I have never had to deal with non payment before. I know the cake was a hit, I have received 3 orders from that day from people that have never ordered from me before. They told me how much they liked it and how good it tasted.
Any advise??

you must definately call and mention the two written bills. call and say you are calling to find out if they have a check ready for you. If they have any questions wehter or not it was a donation then you can clear it up. But definately call.

I would send another bill by certified mail. Also, I would send a copy of the bill to the president of the organization with a little note that says how happy you are that everyone enjoyed the cake, however you are STILL awaiting payment. Perhaps someone higher up in the group needs to be aware that the treasurer is not doing their job.

Let us know what happens.

I agree that you definitely need to pursue payment. I know how frustrating that can be ... it has happened to lots of us!!! icon_mad.gif

If all else fails, have it printed on the local newspaper front page telling everyone that these people have not paid your a cake bill, inspite of your efforts in getting your money. besides politicians love to be on the papers all the time. icon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif

I wouldn't send anything more - just pick up the phone and call him. It might be as simple as an oversight. I'm sure you'll get paid!
