OK I have a heritage series sunbeam mixmaster stand mixer...with all the bells and whistles...its holding up pretty good. Hubby decided to surprise me today and called just now from the store and is getting me a KA....here is the Q...the artisan series most say they like....is only 200 + I dont remember exactly. ...and the 600 professional series is about 100.00 more..its gonna be a lil over 400.00..is it worth the extra "dough?" I know ..I know horrible joke!..the artisan one is 325 watts as opposed to 600 watt.If someone has one of these 600's let me know something...or if you just know something about them comparatively

i have an artisan, which does the job for me. I've had it for about 6 months now, and it works great.

I have the Artisan but wish I had the 600 watt. If I had the choice and the money I'd get the 600 watt!
In addition to the extra power it has a larger capacity, and the bowl lift seems like it would be good (I get aggravated with the twist-off bowl)!

What's the difference between models? I have the one where you have to snap the bowl onto the little pegs on the arms and you have to push a lever to bring the bowl up, whereas both of my sisters have the kind that has the hinged head and the twist off bowl. Is one better than the other?

Congrats to you!! The "lever" took a bit of getting use to, compared to the other ones with the hinge! Can't tell from the pic, but if it is the 6 quart..you can make quadruple batches of buttercream icing..all at one time!! It's a real time saver for me! Enjoy!

I thought of going with a cheaper one but all the ones I found in the Artisan series said for home use only...and I figured I put more of a industrial use on mine...the 600 series was over 400.00 but it has a lot of wattage and huge bowl...I think it is gonna be worth the $ icon_biggrin.gif
