You are so lucky!!! I wish I could win one because I sure can't afford one right now. I'm happy for you though, I'm sure you will put it to good use.

ka = Kitchen Aid. Cookie Brookie, I was fortunate enough to only pay $192.50 (that's including shipping) for the 450 watt, 5 qt. Pro HD model, the kind that lifts the bowl up. I figured I am rebuilding from the hurricane and I need my mixer, so bit the bullet. Beats paying $300-$400 for the same model. It is refurbished, but it has a 6 month warranty and you can also get an extended warranty on it. Not bad.

1st thing I am gonna make? Buttercream Icing!! and some Cake Batter. LOL.

Oh baby... you are going to have so much fun with your new KA!! I have the KA "Artisan" in black and just went out and splurged on the Professional 600 in charcoal metallic grey. I feel like a princess and can't quit baking!! icon_biggrin.gif The big one is really great for making larger cakes so you don't have to make a small batch of batter and dump it in a bowl, then make another batch and mix them together, etc. Please have a good time with the new toy... but MIX RESPONSIBLY! Hahahahaha!

I got mine the same way from ebay. Exact same one in bright red, all for $160 including shipping! I've had it about four weeks, and I can't even tell you how much I LOVE it and use it (almost daily)!!

I just got my KA on Thursday! I bought mine on E-bay too. I got the 400 watt Accolade in Green Apple. I have used it so many times already! I'm in love definitely! icon_biggrin.gif

Have you all seen the new KA commercial on TV? You can get an Artisan with free shipping and either an ice cream maker or pasta attachment set with it for only $299. Not bad. Only thing is the Artisan is 300 or 350watts.

OK, here's the pic of mine:

475 watts? 10 speeds.

Mine has the lifting bowl thing (?) but doesn't look that fancy : )

Am I the only one the HATES the KA for cakes? I have to use my oster kitchen center, otherwise there is a little unmixed "well' of batter at the bottom of the KA. As for icing, there is no way the Oster could make icing the way the KA does.....

now if only I could get it to clean up & mop the floor..... icon_confused.gif

Yikes! I should have checked ebay when I bought mine. I paid $400 for the Professional 600 ~ Pearl Metallic at Kitchen & Bath. Oh well ~ no regrets. Well maybe there is one: I was suppose to get a free ice cream maker but they never sent it to me. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Edited for a comment to CakeDiva73: You can adjust your KA so that it will thoroughly mix the batter. Your KA directions will tell you how to make the adjustment.

I have a KA Classic that is 5 y/o. My bowl doesn't have a handle on it or the plastic pour attachment. Is the Artisian an updated version? JC Penney has a sale on them in different colors for $299.00.
