What do you guys think? It's my interpretation of a Colette's cake. The only thing I left off was a bunch of tiny white piped flowers on the actual cakes.
They're dummies with fondant and royal flowers. Tons of work on the flowers...yikes.
I'm taking it to our fair this week. Now, let's see if it *travels* wells.
thats a beautiful cake, definately winning 1st place with me, i cant wait to be able to do something like that. so smoooth. goodluck with the traveling.
That is just beautiful. Best of luck to you. I hope you win 1st place. You deserve it with all the work you put in on that masterpiece.

It's just wonderful! Icing looks perfectly smoothe and your FLOWERS!! This should take frist place for sure! Great job!
Aww, you guys are so sweet!
I dropped it off, with nary a slip--everything survived the drive, the bumps, the RR tracks, etc...big sigh of relief there! You CAN transport those flowers all assembled on top of the cake. That's good to know!
There were only two other wedding cakes there when I dropped it off, and only 2 hours left to enter, so that may be it: 3 entries. The other two were nice, but, well, I'm biased...
We'll see. It's all up to the judges, of course...
I'll see how it did Wed when I go in.
Thanks guys!
I started the flowers about last week or the week before, can't remember. They're all piped with royal icing. My hand is tired...! They took forever.
My hubby said the kitchen looked like the Munchkinland set in The Wizard of Oz--flowers of all sizes and colors on every available counter for days...lol!
Awsome cake! I'm sure you'll do well! Our fair doesn't have a class for cakes like that!
