Have U Ever Gotten An E-Mail With Pics Of Marzipan Babies?

I've gotten this e-mail at least three times over the years. It shows incredible sculptures of babies in marzipan Detailed to perfection and fitting in the palm of a hand! I searched Snopes.com for them (the site where they separate fact from fiction.) Well, as it turns out, the babies are not made of marzipan ... but they are still handcrafted and are still so worth seeing.

They are made out of clay by a very talented lady named Camille Allen.
So angelic looking.

hahahaha don't feel bad. So did I, not too long ago. Probably a couple months ago. Still, they were absolutely breathtaking.
Kylie, you're not stupid! That is believable. They are still sculpted by a talented artist. I check snopes.com for everything I get before I pass it along. The site is fascinating!
If she made them out of clay she could do the same with the marzipan I'm sure.
I have seen this before and never even thought it might not be real. What a silly thing to say it was made out of marzipan when it's made out of clay. What's the difference? They were made by a lady and no matter what she made them out of they are very good.
Even though they are done in clay one who is good at sculpting could very easily use marzipan as their medium to create those adorable babies.
I love them no matter what they were made of.
Surely we have some here who are talented enough to create the babies in marzipan!!!

This is why it's a perfect urban legend! They are so perfect looking and sweet ----then you are told they are edible The thought is horrible that someone would eat the perfect creation--it's cannibalistic! Like eating a real baby!
That's why it gets passed around and around and around--several people have sent it to me knowing I am a decorator.
Don't feel bad
I saw these a while back, and honestly, they creep me out. Edible or not!
Not that it doesn't take talent to do that, because I certainly could never do that!
I guess it would sound pretty sick to say they are going to be eaten but do people really eat marzipan stuff? I've never had it but thought it would taste yucky like fondant or gum paste.
I think marzipan (not marzipan babies, of course!!!! ) is really yummy. It's a popular confectionary treat in some areas of Europe. It tastes like almonds.
Marzipan is made of almonds (almond paste) sugar, egg whites and vanilla.
Is is beyond yummy!
That does sound yummy. Is this something you make or do you buy it already made?
Can you use it to cover a cake like fondant?
You can buy it in little tubes, I am thinking it would be cheaper to buy almond paste and make it. This is not cheap stuff to buy though.
I have never worked with it, so I dont know. I eat it plain!
Most celebration cakes in the UK are a rich dark fruit cake covered in marzipan then iced in royal icing or fondant
