I too like the colored cake! They are so vibrant!

I liked the squiggles on the sides of your tiered cake, very cute!

And I am posting my July 4th contribution...hope you don't mind that it's a whole dinner scene...the Chocolate Silk Pie is the TOTM part.....

[Edit to post.....oops, I forgot that the pics are on the other PC....I'll post them tomorrow! Sorry guys!]

here's my unfinished 4th of July cake. Not what I had in mind, but my guests arrived an hour earlier than expected.

zenu that looks great! I love it!

As far as Dan-fans... I'm old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway. icon_wink.gif He's 18, so it's not illegal, and it's not like I'm ever going to meet him and woo him into bed anyway... it's just fun to appreciate how pretty he is! icon_rolleyes.gif Hey, I like some old guys too... can you say, "Sean Connery"? Hehehehe... he's like 150! It all evens out in the wash I guess. icon_wink.gif

Ok, so it's morning now, and I"m at the right PC. Here's the pic I didn't post last night.

The pie crust is from scratch(I won't make one any other way)and I did it in a "lace" style, using one of my smallest fondant cutters.

My hubby requested it instead of a cake. Everyone was just sick of cake after two birthdays before the 4th and one the week after....

Yeppers! They are....my DD made those. Her first time making my own recipe. I think they turned out really nice don't you!!?? thumbs_up.gif I gave her a really big pat on the back for that, since it's like pulling teeth to get her in the kitchen(she's 16).

So did you do a regular biscuit but cut with a star cutter instead of a circle? Or did you cute them after somehow?

Cut them before I baked them. My daughter did a great job didn't she? Sorry the color is so washed out on the pic, something messed up in the program processing I think.
