Darlene000--

Run!

Do not WALK to your nearest church, and ask for absolution! Because you have now been sucked into the deep, dark abyss that is cake decorating. icon_twisted.gif

Yes, it's sad but true. Your days (and nights) are now forever doomed to be filled with flour, sugar, shortening, colors and flavorings. Your hands are destined to become crippled and twisted into the shape of near fists from the years of piping bag strain. icon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif

And, well--let's not even talk about what happens to the rest of your body!

LOL, and welcome to our reality! icon_biggrin.gif

Im not allowed to eat sugar... so Ummm can't actually eat any of the stuff I make LOL... I can take the teeniest taste to make sure the MMF or BC isnt foul... but yeah, I wont be eating any of my finished products.....

I have a pregnant friend who is waiting on my finished test cake LOL

Welcome to the addiction. There are perks to this...you will always smell sweet even when you're feeling sour, everyone will anticipate your arrival at parties and even if it's not your best work the evidence quickly disappears. icon_wink.gif

May your cakes always be level and your frosting always smooth. icon_biggrin.gif

It is over...your laundry will pile up, cleaning will get neglected - except for the kitchen. You have to clean that so you can make another mess. thumbs_up.gif

Welcome to the addiction and best of luck on your first cake. icon_biggrin.gif

Welcome to the club!!!!!! Everything you look at now be an idea for a cake, or cake plate, or something to do with cake!

I've been decorating cakes for several years, but I'm new to CC. Cake decorating and CC are addicting! I'm having a blast too! I have learned so much in such a short time. There are so many products and techniques that I didn't know existed (those Wilton classes didn't tell us everything)!

There are so many talented people here. I'm so glad I have a place to find the answers to my questions! Hopefully I'll be able to pass along some great info myself one day!

this place is more addictive than drugs. you get "sucked in" and before you know it your whole world is revolving around cakes. you do nothing but talk about cakes. your friends think youre insane...(after all its just a cake) but what do they know. and you know youve officially become insane when youve made so many cakes for people you bring them a new one before theyve finished the old one. or they tell you that they couldnt eat another bite of cake if ther life depended on it.lol
btw i got addicted because of a baby shower cake. i wonder if theres a cake central anonymous? (sp)

Yes, it is definitely over for you. icon_wink.gif I was in your place just a mere 5 months ago and now I'm in it for good.

Soon you will be looking at every household gadget you find and thinking about how you can use it to decorate a cake. You will probably do this at friend's houses, too. And children's toys will never look the same, either, especially play-doh related items.

Your refrigerator will be filled with lots of little tupperware containers with different consistency and color icings that you "just might need" and maybe some leftover fillings, too.

And if you don't own a KitchenAid, you will soon be drooling over them and stopping at store displays to admire them. If you do own one, you will start spending more time with it than some of your family members. You might even give it a hug goodnight sometimes.

Ah yes, it's a wonderful world you have stepped into...

Welcome!

If I were a diabetic, the amount of sugar I inhale, that gets splurted into my eyes, ACCIDENTLY shoots into my mouth, gets absorbed into my skin, would send me into a coma!

Addicted? Me? Nah - no way. Really. I'm not lying. My house really hasn't been taken over by cake "tools", no matter what my DH says. And really, I don't spend ALL my time talking about cakes, or searching the internet, or actually working on cakes, like my kids say I do. And I don't look at EVERYTHING in a store (no matter WHAT kind of store) and think "how could I use that on cake?" - no matter what my friends say. Addicted? Nah. I remember the t-shirts that my boys used to wear "Baseball is Life" and "Football is Life" and my daughter had one that said "Gymnastics is Life". I'm not addicted - I just need a t-shirt that says "Cake is LIFE"!!! WooHoo!!
