I made a cheesecake and I made the ganache, it's in the refrigerator cooling. The directions say I can white and spread it or pour it. What do you think?

For a cheesecake I would say pour it. The Whipped ganache can get VERY rich and with a rich cheesecake may be a little too rich for some. The poured ganache would give you just the right amount of chocolate. Sounds delish!!

I don't know what the effect is that your going for--if you'd like for it just to be a chocolate glaze on top, to drizzle down, I would pour (before it thickens much).

If you'd like for the chocolate to just stay only on the top of the cheesecake and have a little bit of a thicker consistency, then i'd whip. Whipped ganache is really easy to spread. Good luck! I think you can't go wrong, ganache tastes so good!

I've never whipped but pouring works good. Depends on the look you're going for. I made a cake for my sister(surefire cure for pms icon_razz.gif ) Made up chocolate cake, frosted in chocolate bc and poured ganache over the top. I just let it run over the sides in a natural drizzle effect. Looked pretty good even wtih no other decorations. I think it depends on the look you're going for. Whipped can be piped (so I've read) and I've seen a picture or two where they did both, poured and piped. What is it you're hoping for?

I would pour and let it drizzle down the sides, that sounds soooo good!

I agree with everyone else- definitely pour it. I think the whipped would be hard to spread on a cheesecake. If it's gotten too thick to pour, heat it up just a bit in the microwave- only a couple of seconds because it doesn't take long at all to thin up again.

It's for a dinner party I'm going to and cheesecake was requested. I'm not really going for a look, just wanting to do what works best. I'll be pouring it! Thanks for all your suggestions!
