Making True Red Icing Turns Out Pink!!

How do I make my icing truely red? It always looks fushia. I know wilton sells it in the tube but it tastes pretty bad and i need much more than that. I also don't want to add soo much red to icing or fondant that it dies everyone red!! HELP!!

I'd use ameri color sold on here and get the super red icing should get redder as it sits.
Does it look fushia after the icing has dried on the cake or just while you're mixing it?
When coloring red icing you can make it a fushia/dark pink color and it will dry red. It also helps to color the icing red a few days before you need it and it will deepen as it sits.
It's fushia when wet. It still doesnt look like a true RED after it dries though. It gets better but not like the little decorators tubes of red you can buy. That's the red I like.
What I usually do is mix plenty of the Wilton "No Taste" Red and then I add a little Wilton "Red Red". Here's a couple of cakes I did mixing those reds together:
